Last season has been over for months, but it's hard for players and coaches at St. Peter's Prep to forget last year's disappintment.

Last year, the Maraduers lost in the state championship game to Paramus Catholic, 33-28.

"The only goal we have right now is winning a state championship," said Junior Quarterback Masaai Maynor.

"Overall, I think we are a veteran team, but I think defensively we should be really sound. Offensively we have skill guys and good weapons, so I'm excited about that," said head coach Rich Hansen.

There's no disputing the amount of talent available for St. Peter's. The team features over a dozen Division I prospects, but the biggest question is under center, as Maynor will be starting for the first time this season.

"Although I was a backup, I got to get glimpses a little at Varsity. I feel like i'm ready," Maynor said.
