A memorial service was held Friday to honor the life of the co-pilot killed in a small plane crash near Teterboro last week.

Union native Jeff Alino was killed when the plane he was co-piloting crashed last Monday in Carlstadt.

Family, friends and members of the community gathered at St Teresa Church in Kenilworth to bid their final farewell to the 33-year-old.

Loved ones say Alino had explored different career paths, but his ultimate dream was to become a pilot, a dream he saw through until the very end.

The NTSB, meanwhile, has released its preliminary report. Officials say the aircraft made a last minute turn as it approached Teterboro Airport, causing it to crash.
