Union County opens first office to provide services to LGBTQ community

County officials say the office will provide resources and advocacy for LGBTQ people

UNION COUNTY — Union County has opened a new office dedicated to providing services to members of New Jersey's LGBTQ community. The office is located at Elizabeth Town Plaza.

"This office is going to be a catalyst in making sure we provide additional resources and advocacy for all residents in Union County who are part of the LGBTQ community and making sure they know that the county of Union is making sure they have an equal voice at the table," said Union County Freeholder Chairman Sergio Granados.

The county says that they plan on holding events like community engagements, including the first Union County LGBTQ Pride flag-raising ceremony to launch Pride Month and the second annual Union County Family Pride Community Picnic.
